Start by creating your own HurryUp account and connect your training device so your activities sync automatically. See what devices we support.
A distance challenge is a competition format based on total kilometers. It’s a great way to get started.
Create a challenge for your club that runs through the whole season. Once it’s set up, share the URL with your members. They’ll need to create their own HurryUp accounts and join your challenge.
Please note that all distance challenges, except the global official ones, are private. This means only team members will see the leaderboard in your challenge.
Next step is to create a segment challenge – a competition where members earn points based on how well they perform on several different segments.
To do that, you’ll need to add segments to your challenge. You have two options:
1. Use existing segments already available in HurryUp.
2. Create your own segments, which is what most clubs prefer.
If you choose to create your own, you’ll need to use a computer (not a phone), and you have two ways to do it:
A) Go for a workout and create segments from that activity when you get home.
B) Export the “original file” (FIT file) from one of your Strava workouts and upload it to HurryUp to create segments from it.
Unfortunately, it’s not technically possible to use Strava segments directly in HurryUp. That’s why segments need to be created in HurryUp.
Once you’ve added your favorite segments, you’re ready to create your segment challenge.
When setting it up, choose the duration of the competition and add your selected segments.
A good tip is to end the challenge just before your annual end-of-season party — that way, you can crown your club’s Athlete of the Year.
Once your challenge is ready, share the URL with your club members so they can join.
Good luck!
